Introduction
We will discuss the equilibrium of floating and sub merged bodies.
1. Bouyancy
2. Centre of Bouyancy
3. Metacentre
4. Metacentric height
5. Analytical methods for determination of Metacentric height
6. Conditions for floating or submerged bodies
7. Experimental methods for the determination of Metacentric height
Bouyancy
When a body is floating or submerged in a fluid then it experiences some upward force, that force is called Bouyant force or simply Bouyancy.
Centre of Bouyancy
It is defined as the point, through which the Bouyant force is supposed to act. As the Bouyant force is equal to the weight of the liquid. The centre of Bouyancy is the center of gravity point of displaced liquid.
